The Partnership Condemns Police Violence and Racism

The Partnership for Inclusive Disaster Strategies (The Partnership) condemns the police violence and racism that has led to the deaths of George Floyd, Tony McDade, Breonna Taylor, and countless other Black people. We are in solidarity with the Black community and demand justice for all the victims of police violence across the nation.

The Partnership condemns the interlocking oppressions in housing, health care, incarceration, poverty, and other systems that thrive on racism. During disasters, these systems interact in ways that have a disproportionate effect on Black people. Recognizing this, The Partnership is committed to centering the voices of Disabled Black, Indigenous, and People of Color in our disaster work.

We know that Black lives matter and we support justice initiatives led by communities of color to help build a future where all our people are free.
