Community Resilience Initiative
COVID-19 has taken more than 100,000 lives in the US, and
almost half have been people with disabilities in
congregate facilities.1
★ CILs have prevented unnecessary deaths and can prevent even more.
★ The Partnership can support CILs in diversion, transition, and community resilience.
The Partnership’s COVID-19 Community Resilience Initiative
adapts and strengthens disability services during the pandemic and builds resilience for future disasters through:
● Training CIL/Organizations in emergency management “101” and serving people with disabilities during the pandemic and concurrent disasters
● Continuity of Operations Planning during the pandemic, concurrent, and future disasters
● Gap Analysis of Emergency Plan
● Accessible Virtual Inclusive Emergency Management Conferences
The Partnership for Inclusive Disaster Strategies is the only U.S. disability-led organization focused exclusively on cross-disability inclusive public health emergencies and disaster management, community organizing, policy education, advocacy, technical assistance, training, planning, response and recovery for equal access and full inclusion of people with disabilities and people with access and functional needs before, during, and after disasters and emergencies.
