The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) announced on Friday, January 19, 2024, a plan to reform the disaster assistance program.
On Monday, January 22nd, The Partnership hosted a community call with FEMA Office of Disability Integration and Coordination (ODIC) Director Sherman Gillums, Jr. and stakeholders from across the country, for an hour-long conversation on what to expect from the FEMA disaster assistance changes. Director Gillums shared more information about the reforms, how the changes relate to people with disabilities, and answered questions from stakeholders.
